How NOT to eat for a weight loss program.

Ok, today was not normal.  At least in the food department.

My intent was to have some eggs for breakfast like I normally do an a couple of strips of bacon with it.  However, as I was fixing the eggs, my kids wanted some.  Me being a “good dad” I shared.  Next thing I knew, we were out of eggs…

So instead, my day started like this:

Meal 1

7 strips of bacon

Meal 2

Met-Rx protein bar


Barbell Push Press sets of 2-3 progressively heavier

1 Arm Kb Clean

Racked KB Squat

I didn’t get as many sets and reps in as I had originally planned for my workout, but still got some good work done and broke a sweat.

Meal 3

3/4 of a Papa Murphy’s BBQ Chicken pizza.

Yes, that is 3/4 of the whole pizza, not 3/4 of a slice…

My calories were low for the day, I got a good workout in and I enjoyed my Friday night feast.

I definitely would NOT recommend days like this if you are trying to lose weight, but they happen sometimes.  Even to me.




  1. No workout today but played in a couples golf scramble after work so burned a few calories…

    B- 1 slice wheat bread with 1 tbs peanut butter
    L- Turkey sandwich (wheat bread, 3oz turkey, sharp cheddar cheese slice, tsp olive oil mayo)
    S- Mini pretzils
    D- At ECC after scramble- Peas, spoonful of mac and cheese, Coconut Tilapia fillet, very little pulled bbq chicken.

    While playing golf I had a vodka cocktail and 2 strawber-ritas. Its Friday, I planned on having a good time and my calorie intake was low for the day…
